Nutcracker T-Shirt Design Contest

Greensboro Ballet will take design submissions for its 2024 Nutcracker T-shirt from July 10-30, 2024 with the winner being announced on July 31st!

Winner will receive 2 Nutcracker t-shirts imprinted with their winning design and 8 tickets to any of our 2024 performances of The Nutcracker.

Design Requirements:
1. Open to both children and adults.
2. Open to both amateurs and professional artists.
3. Part of the design MUST include some original artwork.
4. Please limit design to a max of two colors (including either white or black).
5. You can suggest a shirt color, but the Ballet reserves the right to choose the color of shirt your design will be printed on.
6. Design must be submitted to Jennifer Gentry at executivedirector@greensboroballet.org by 5pm on July 30, 2024.
7. Previous T-shirt Design winners are excluded from submitting a design.
 
Ideas:  Simple is always better when it comes to T-shirt Design (easier to print/read, etc.).
Also, though it is not necessary for the contest, you may want to submit a design that includes musical elements, as we will have a brand NEW Nutcracker Orchestra performing live with our dancers this year!

New Classes in Collaboration with Hirsch Wellness

In celebration of our Clara's Christmas in July celebration, the School of Greensboro Ballet will host two classes for Hirsch Wellness members, both with a Nutcracker theme! These classes must be registered for through the Hirsch Wellness Center.

This class will give teens, ages 12-18, an introduction to Hip-Hop dancing at Greensboro Ballet, which is located inside the Greensboro Cultural Center downtown. The class is taught by Dom Alexis (a.k.a. BBoy Ballet), and students will enjoy a “Nutcracker” theme as part of Greensboro Ballet’s “Clara’s Nutcracker in July” month-long celebration. Male and female students are welcome, and no experience is necessary. Registration is required and closes at 10am on the day of class. Parents/caregivers should register for their teens.

This class is a great way to try a ballet class if you’ve never had one before! It will include light stretching, learning how to exercise at the ballet barre, and some basic center floor ballet steps. Music for the class will be from the popular holiday production of “The Nutcracker” as part of Greensboro Ballet’s “Clara’s Nutcracker in July” month-long celebration. The class will be held at Greensboro Ballet, located in the Greensboro Cultural Center downtown. Male and female students are welcome, and no experience is necessary. Registration is required and closes at 10am on the day of class.
