A month long celebration of Greensboro Ballet's annual production of The Nutcracker with special ticket deals, fun contests, special related outreach activities, and more!

July 11, 9am-4pm (Storytime is at 11AM): Barnes & Noble Book Fair fundraising event. Meet characters from The Nutcracker all day. Clara will read The Nutcracker during Storytime at 11am. Optional: use our voucher at check-out and Greensboro Ballet will receive a portion of your purchase. Event at Friendly Center's Barnes & Noble.
July 19, 2-4pm: Join us for this new event, Clara's Ballet Day in the studios of Greensboro Ballet, 3rd floor of the Greensboro Cultural Center. This free community event will be full of fun ballet-themed activities with special prize giveaways, free trial classes, snacks & drinks, a chance to meet some of our dancers in costume, and goody bags for the first 20 guests!
July 20-24, 9am-Noon: Ages 3-6 will enjoy our Nutcracker Children's Summer Dance Camp this week at SGB (School of Greensboro Ballet).Explore movement and dance with the characters from this festive ballet, including the beloved young Clara, her Nutcracker Prince, and the sparkling Sugar Plum Fairy. July 22-24, 9:30am-2:00pm: The Nutcracker Elementary Ballet Intensive for Ages 7-10 at SGB. Explore the characters from the various scenes, learn what to expect at the auditions, and practice some of the actual dances from this beloved holiday ballet story. Join Clara and friends in the Greensboro Ballet studios on the 3rd Floor of the Greensboro Cultural Center
Sunday, July 19, 2:00-4:00pm for
Clara's Ballet Day
Fun ballet and The Nutcracker themed activities will fill our studios including:
- The first 20 guests will receive a special Clara's Ballet Day goody bag!
- Decorate pointe shoes with jewels, flowers, etc.
- Enjoy complimentary frozen treats. cold drinks, & more for a real Christmas in July feel!
- Create your own Ballet Bag and/or jeweled tiara/crown.
- Explore all of our ballet books in our reading corner and join the dancers for special story times throughout the afternoon.
- Help us color our Nutcracker Mural and/or lots of other ballet coloring pages.
- Get your ballet-themed nails done or add a ballet temporary tattoo.
- Have your photo taken with one or more of our ballet dancers dressed as your favorite Nutcracker characters.
