Learn about the different instruments of an orchestra through the music and dance from the popular children's story, Peter & the Wolf. Each character is represented by a different musical instrument, helping the audience recognize sounds and emotions through music (and dance)—for example, the bird sounds and movements are light and quick. At its heart, Peter & the Wolf is a story about bravery, problem-solving, and listening, showing that courage doesn’t mean being reckless—it means thinking smart and working together to face challenges.
Also included in this performance is excerpts from Act II of Giselle, a hauntingly beautiful jewel of the Romantic ballet era. Set in a moonlit forest where the ethereal Wilis—spirits of betrayed maidens—haunt the night, Giselle’s spirit returns not in vengeance, but in love. Floating through mist and moonlight, Giselle is a story of heartbreak and hope—reminding us that the most enduring magic is love that forgives.
