Elementary Summer Intensives & Classes
Ages 7-10 (Beginning & Elementary levels)
Our School of Greensboro Ballet faculty have created a full summer of training opportunities for young dance students. There are intensives and many classes offered for the serious young ballet student, as well a variety of offerings for those looking to explore ballet and other dance training.
Note: Elementary students wear a leotard, pink or matching skin-tone tights and ballet shoes. Hair should be worn in a bun. Intensives may include Contemporary/Jazz/Hip-Hop. Wear convertible tights if you have them. You do NOT need to purchase any additional dancewear items, but if you already have them, you can bring jazz shoes.
Elementary Ballet Intensives for ages 7-10
Learn all the basics of a classical ballet education as you lay a foundation for dance training through one or more of these intensives. Students will have a ballet class each day along with other dance styles throughout the week (jazz/contemporary/hip-hop), and rehearsals for an end-of-week showing for parents!
Monday-Friday, 9:30am-2:00pm
Session 1: June 22-26 - Ballet Classics
Session 2: July 20-24 - The Nutcracker
Session 3: August 10-14 - Ballet Princesses

Ballet Classics: While learning the basics of classical ballet technique this week, learn also about some of the classics of full-length ballet stories including The Firebird, Swan Lake, Coppélia, Giselle, etc.
The Nutcracker: This session is a great preparation for anyone considering auditioning for Greensboro Ballet's annual production of The Nutcracker. Explore the characters from the various scenes, learn what to expect at the auditions, and practice some of the actual dances from this beloved holiday ballet story.
Ballet Princesses: You may know many Princess stories because of the Disney movies, but did you know that there are many classical ballets based on some of the same Princesses? In this magical week of royal ballets, we'll dance through several including Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and more.
Elementary Summer Open Classes:
Beginning/Elementary Ballet for ages 7-10
Saturdays, 10:15am-11:15am
Young dancers can begin learning classical ballet or extend their ballet training with these flexible and fun summer classes. There are three sessions this summer, two 4-week sessions in June & August and a 3-week session in July. Students must be able to attend all 3/4 weeks of classes per specific session to enroll. Combine sessions for a full summer of ballet class instruction!
Students must be able to attend all weeks of Saturday classes (per session) in order to enroll in these sessions.
Session 1: June 6-27 Session 2: July 11-25 (3 weeks)
Session 3: August 1-22
COST: 3-week session: $60 4-Week sessions: $75
7-Weeks: $120 8-Weeks: $135 All 11-Weeks: $180
Nutcracker Preparatory Ballet Classes
Ages 8-10 (w/at least one year of ballet training)
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:30-6:30pm
In the School of Greensboro Ballet, students in ballet Level B or higher are eligible to audition for our annual holiday production of The Nutcracker each year. These Nutcracker Prep Ballet classes for Elementary level students will be offered this August to prepare them for our 2026 production. Students will not learn dances from The Nutcracker, but rather will improve their ballet technique in order to have their best audition. Sign-up for three weeks of these classes to get the best preparation possible.
Week 1: Aug. 4 & 6 Week 2: Aug. 11 & 13 Week 3: Aug. 18 & 20

EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT:
Your Registration Fee of $20 will be waived if you register for any Summer classes, workshops, or intensives by March 1, 2026.

SUMMER TUITION PAYMENTS:
Your Registration Fee will be charged immediately when you register for any Summer offering. You will receive a confirmation of your registration and then you will be billed for 1/2 of your total summer tuition owed. The other 1/2 will be billed the first week of the month you are attending your first class or session (June, July or August).
