Ages 7-10 (Beginning & Elementary levels)
Our School of Greensboro Ballet faculty have created a full summer of training opportunities for young dance students. There are intensives and many classes offered for the serious young ballet student, as well a variety of offerings for those looking to explore ballet and other dance training.
Elementary Ballet Summer Workshops
Ages 7-10 9:30am-2:00pm each day
Week 1: July 14 - 18 - Sleeping Beauty
Week 2: July 21-25 - The Nutcracker
Week 3: July 28 - August 1 - Swan Lake
These summer workshops are ideal for our current Level A-C students as well as any 7-10 year old interested in starting or continuing their ballet classes. Each week will have a theme of a different ballet. Learn about these fabulous ballets while learning and strengthening your ballet basics including how to stand at the barre, positions of the arms and feet, movement principles as well as ballet stretches and steps.
Beginning contemporary and jazz classes, ballet crafts, and rehearsals for an end-of-the-week "performance" for parents will also be included this week. Get the best ballet training while enjoying a fun Summer experience!
These sessions are also highly recommended for students auditioning for our 2025 production of The Nutcracker.
Cost: 1 Week: $230, 2 Weeks: $420, 3 Weeks: $630
NOTES: Students should wear dance clothing to these workshops and intensives including tights, leotard, and ballet shoes. Any colors are acceptable during the summer months. Bring your own water bottles, drinks, lunch, and snacks.Elementary Summer Open Classes:
Elementary Ballet for ages 7-10
Saturdays, 10:15am-11:15am
Young dancers can begin learning classical ballet or extend their ballet training with these flexible and fun summer classes. There are two sessions this summer, a 4 week session in June and a 6week session that runs through July and August. Students must be able to attend all 4 or 6 weeks of classes in order to enroll in these sessions.
4 Week Session dates: June 7, 14, 21, & 28
6 Week Session dates: July 12, 19, & 26 and August 2, 9, & 16
Cost: 10 Weeks: $200, 6 Weeks: $130, 4 Weeks: $100
Nutcracker Preparatory Ballet Classes
Ages 8-10 (w/at least one year of ballet training)
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:30-6:30pm
In the School of Greensboro Ballet, students in ballet Level B or higher are eligible to audition for our annual holiday production of The Nutcracker each year. These Nutcracker Prep Ballet classes for Elementary level students will be offered this August to prepare them for our 2025 production. Students will not learn dances from The Nutcracker, but rather will improve their ballet technique in order to have their best audition. Sign-up for three weeks of these classes to get the best preparation possible.
Week 1: Aug. 5 & 7 Week 2: Aug. 12 & 14 Week 3: Aug. 19 & 21
