Summer for Intermediate & Advanced Students

Intermediate & Advanced Summer Intensives, Workshops, and Classes

Ages 13+ (Advanced ballet level)
Ages 11+ (Intermediate ballet level)

Greensboro Ballet's Artistic Director, Christine Cervino Grider, and SGB Director, Nina Munda have created a full summer of training opportunities for the serious ballet student.

 This schedule of intensives, workshops and classes are designed to offer students either a full Summer training experience or to supplement other intensives they may be attending. Students may also use the workshops and classes in order to prepare themselves for an upcoming Intensive or to prepare themselves for the 2026/2027 season.

 

 

Full-Day Summer Intensives

Week 1: July 13-17

Week 2: July 20-24

 

9:30am-4:00pm

Full-day Summer Intensives will give students a well-rounded and complete training experience, while challenging them both physically and as ever-evolving artists. Classes will include ballet, pointe (pre-pointe), variations, conditioning, Pilates, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, and/or other dance styles.

COST:  1 Week: $400    2 Weeks: $775

 

Half-Day Workshops

Week 1: June 15-18 (4-day Workshop)
Week 2: June 22-25 (4-day Workshop)
 
Week 3:  July 27-31
Week 4:  August 3-7
Week 5:  August 10-14
 
9:30am-1:00pm
 
Half-Day Workshops will help students to maintain their strength, technique, and continued growth as a dancer. Each day includes a classical ballet technique class, followed by a pointe (pre-pointe) or variations class. Excellent pre &/or post training for larger Summer Intensives or in combination with an entire summer of workshops, classes, and full-day intensives.
 
COST:
4 Day Workshops:   1 Week: $210   2 Weeks: $390
 
5 Day Workshops:  1 Week: $260    2 Weeks: $410   3 Weeks: $585
 
Combine above amounts for total if taking some 4-day and some 5-day workshops.
 
Or sign-up for an all encompassing 5 weeks of the above workshops for one rate.
5 Weeks: $900 
 

 

Early Summer Maintenance Classes

For Intermediate  & Advanced level students (Levels 1-5)

Ages 11 & up with at least 3+ years of ballet training

 

5:30-7:30pm - Ballet & Pointe/Pre-Pointe or other classes

Mondays & Wednesdays unless otherwise noted

Week 1:  May 18 & 20     Week 2: May 26 & 28 (Tu/Th)     

Week 3:  June 1 & 3     Week 4:  June 8 & 10

These classes are designed to keep advanced and intermediate students in tip-top shape throughout the year. Some of these classes may be taught by special guest teachers and/or in different types of classes (partnering, pilates, etc.). Alumni, college students returning home to GSO, and/or adults with advanced training are also eligible for these classes.

COST: 1 Week: $100, 2 Weeks: $190, 3 Weeks: $285

4 Weeks: $375      Single Class only: $55/class

*You can combine weeks with Nutcracker Prep Week, as well for a total of weeks.

 

Nutcracker Preparatory Classes

For Intermediate & Advanced level students (Levels 1-5)

Ages 11 & up with at least 3+ years of ballet training

5:30-7:30pm - Ballet & Pointe/Pre-Pointe

August 17 & 19 (Mon. & Wed.)

Intermediate & Advanced Ballet classes will be offered for one week this August to prepare our students for our 2026 production of The Nutcracker. Sign-up for one or both classes.

COST:   1 Class: $55    2 Classes: $100


 Jazz/Contemporary Summer Workshop

For ages 10-17

Beginning & Intermediate/Advanced levels

July 6-10, 9:30am-1:00pm     COST:  $190 

This dynamic summer workshop is designed for dancers who are eager to explore movement beyond classical ballet. Throughout this focused week, dancers will train in a variety of styles including contemporary, jazz, modern, hip-hop, and other complementary dance forms. Dancers will work on technique, style, performance quality, and age-appropriate choreography, with material tailored to meet each level of experience. This workshop is perfect for dancers looking to broaden their training, try new styles, and deepen their connection to movement—all while having fun and staying inspired during the summer.

Current School of Greensboro Ballet students should just use this LOGIN to access their account to add any Summer classes, etc.

CUSTOMER LOGIN

EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT:

Your Registration Fee of $20 will be waived if you register for any Summer classes, workshops, or intensives by March 1, 2026.

SCHOLARSHIPS:

Full or partial Scholarships are available if needed. Current students will be considered first for financial aid (you do not need to reapply). To ask about Scholarships, email us att:

SUMMER TUITION PAYMENTS:

Your Registration Fee will be charged immediately when you register for any Summer offering. You will receive a confirmation of your registration and then you will be billed for 1/2 of your total summer tuition owed. The other 1/2 will be billed the first week of the month you are attending your first class or session (June, July or August).
