From the sparkling wonder of The Nutcracker — a cherished holiday celebration filled with snowflakes, sweets, and the warmth of family — to the deeply romantic and hauntingly graceful Storybook Tales, featuring Act II of Giselle and other enchanting ballets, this season is designed to transport audiences of all ages. With lush costumes, exquisite choreography, and the return of live music (with our Nutcracker Orchestra), Greensboro Ballet invites you to dream deeply and believe in the magic of the stage!

The Nutcracker at the Carolina Theatre

This beloved holiday tradition returns in full grandeur, now featuring a spectacular Land of Snow including a gorgeous set of new snowflake tutus and the return of our Nutcracker Orchestra, performing Tchaikovsky’s timeless score. Let music and movement whisk you into a celebration of childhood dreams and festive delight.

This joyous event begins with learning Clara's Lullaby dance from the ballet, The Nutcracker, on the stage of the Carolina Theatre! Afterwards, guests go up to a festively decorated Renaissance Room (this year's theme is Nutcrackers) for tea or cocoa and lots of yummy treats.

Storybook Tales at the Carolina Theatre
Featuring Act II of Giselle and other ballets
In Storybook Tales, Greensboro Ballet brings together a collection of spellbinding story ballets that awaken the imagination and stir the heart.
At the center of this production is Act II of Giselle—a hauntingly beautiful masterpiece of the Romantic ballet era. Set in a moonlit forest, this act tells the poignant story of Giselle’s spirit as she forgives the one who wronged her, proving that true love transcends even death.
Storybook Tales is a perfect springtime performance for ballet lovers and dreamers of all ages.
